The History of Miracle Channel |
The Miracle Channel was established in 1997 to reach Arab speaking people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The channel was founded by Dr. Aril Edvardsen.
In 1995 the Miracle channel started broadcasting ½ a week on Eutelsat. After putting single programs on air for 2 years, the Miracle Channel officially became a channel April the 4th 1997, broadcasting 6 hours a week. In 2001 the channel increased to 8 hours a week, and from December 2002, 8 hours a day. In 2004 when the airtime increased to 12 hours a day, the channel also went digital. From April 2006, the channel started broadcasting 24 hours a day. Follow up of viewer response takes place from an office in Sweden employing Christian Arabs. Every year thousands of Muslims contact the channel with questions about Jesus Christ and the Bible.In 2006 the channel started online streaming on internet and quickly gained an audience outside the original satellite footprint. In January of 2008 the Miracle Channel started broadcasting programs on 58 cable networks and 3 satellites covering all of Canada, USA, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. The ministry targets unreached people groups all over the Arab world, and particularly large numbers of Muslims have come to faith in Jesus Christ as a result of this ministry.
